Straight after the procedure

How Does the Procedure Feel?

Topical anesthetics (i.e. creams) are used to minimize discomfort. On a scale of 0-10, 0 being nil and 10 being the highest, the average pain rating is a 3.

What Will I Look Like After the Procedure?

Immediately after procedure your colour will appear darker and more intense, but will subsequently lighten with the healing process. Mild redness or swelling may occur but not for all, for the first couple of days, however normal activity can be resumed immediately following the procedure.

How Long Will It Last?

Enhancements can last from 1 to 5 years dependant on factors such as age, exposure to uv light and swimming. To maintain the colour intensity of your enhancement you can return for a retouch every 12 months for a refresh treatment. These treatments take much less time to complete and are priced accordingly.

Do the Colours Fade?

Permanent Makeup also called micropigmentation is designed to fade. So the colour you have today will not be the colour in 5 to 10 years time. Patients that desire a red lipstick today will fade into the softess of pinks in the future. Plan to have your enhancement maintained with refresher treatments.

What is Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation is the art and science of depositing tiny individual implants of pigment into the demal layer of skin. Your Micropigment Practioner Lyn Quade can choose the right colour in the right place so you can look better naturally. Using only speacialised equipment and instruments, Lyn will place colour into your dermis skin layer, achieving the perfect result for you.

The outermost layer of the skin is called the epidermis.  It is always shedding and renewing itself. So when your enhancement implant is complete, the colour will appear darker than the final result. This is because the colour is in both the epidermis and the dermis.  The colour in the top layer will shred away during the healing process.

Is Permanent Makeup Really Permanent?

No, the implant will fade and in time the body will break down the colour. So as your body ages so will your colour, fading lighter and softer. In Australia we have a higher rate of UV light so lighter colours fade faster, although your enhancement is worth it. Not only do you save time not having to apply makeup yourself and waking up ready to go, but also many hundreds of dollars on makeup itself.
